Opposition to Immigration Raids – Meeting

January 7, 2016 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

On Christmas Eve, an article in the Washington Post shared the unfortunate news that the US is planning raids to deport immigrants who have already received removal orders. The article states this may happen as soon as January. The American Immigration Lawyers Association sent a letter to President Obama in opposition to this Department of Homeland Security plan on New Year’s Eve. As 2016 has just begun, we must commit to supporting the immigrant community into the New Year and beyond.
Join the Intercommunity Justice and Peace Center and the Cincinnati Interfaith Worker Center as we gather together to better understand the situation and mobilize against deportations in our community and in our country. A meeting will be held at 5:30pm on Thursday 1/7 in the lobby of the Peaslee Neighborhood Center (215 E 14th Street Cincinnati, OH 45202).
