Shine a Light on Slavery Day

IJPC is proud to partner with the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and the END IT Movement for “Shine a Light on Slavery Day.”
In honor of this day, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center’s will be hosting a full-day of program initiatives to bring awareness to human trafficking.

Activities include:

  • Free Admission to their special exhibition Motel X.
  • Motel X Gallery Talk (12pm, Skirball Gallery). This program is included with museum admission.
  • A Social Media Activation Station hosted by End Slavery NOW, in partnership with the Intercommunity Justice & Peace Center. The station will be located in the main lobby of the museum from 10am-5pm for visitors to participate in the viral movement. Visitors are encouraged to draw a red ‘X’ on their hand and post it to their social media accounts using the tags #enditmovement #endslaverynow and engage in conversations about the reality of modern-day slavery. In addition, The Intercommunity Justice & Peace Center will also provide information on how to get involved in the anti-trafficking movement in the Cincinnati, OH region. Admission is not required to participate in the social media activation station.
