We work through frameworks of nonviolence and anti-racism on the issues of immigration justice and criminal justice.
Criminal Justice
Death Penalty
IJPC is a key partner in the official campaign to end Ohio’s death penalty, #NoDeathPenaltyOH. Since its reintroduction in 1981, the death penalty has proven to be an expensive, racist, arbitrary system that convicts innocent people. Ohio can keep our citizens safe and hold individuals accountable for their actions without the death penalty– in fact, it’s what we already do the vast majority of the time. It’s time to move Ohio forward to join the 23 other states that have already abandoned the death penalty. Join us.
Immigration Justice
After September 11, the U.S. response to immigration shifted from one of economic exchange to one of homeland security. To this day, innocent families are treated with suspicion and hostility, forcing them to prove their worthiness and utility in our society. Immigrants are not a threat to national security and deserve to be embraced as full members of our community. Through education, advocacy, and coalition building we can create a more dignified, just, and fair immigration system. Join us.
